What Is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is an online term for referral marketing in which you promote other people's products for a share of commissions.

Though there are many different models of internet marketng as a general term like Search Engine Optimization (SEO), E-Commerce, Freelancing, Mobile Marketing, Amazon Kindle Publishing, affiliate marketing is by far the most basic and yet esssential business model for newbies wanting to start an online business and start making money as quickly as possible.

There are 3 types of products you can promote with affiliate marketing.

You can promote information products as in e-books, video tutorials, website templates and software tools in online marketplaces like Clickbank and JVZoo. 

You can also promote physical products - like consumer merchanise - from networks like Amazon and AliExpress. 

You can also promote CPA - which stands for Cost Per Action - offers which you get paid for generating leads rather than sales. 

But for a start, I will recommend information products since they pay the highest commissions especially Clickbank. It is very easy to sign up and get approved quickly and you can get started promoting their products immediately. 

However to get paid, you need to generate at least 5 sales.. Once you do that, Clickbank will mail you your paycheck and an opton of whether you want to continue receiving checks or direct deposit into your bank account.
